With a degree in Fine Art, Sarah Harris began her career many years ago as a decorative painter for MacKenzie-Childs, Ltd, a leading manufacturer of whimsical hand painted products for the home. As a furniture painter Sarah had the opportunity to paint for such exciting clients as Carly Simon and golfer Jack Nicholas. In 1996, Sarah opened her own decorative painting business, Sarah Harris Designs specializing in faux finishes and wall murals. Although Sarah has had many memorable painting projects over the years, her greatest joy is designing children’s spaces. The smiles and giggles from her littlest customers are so rewarding!

Paintedinteriors.com began as an offshoot of Sarah Harris Designs. Over the years clients would frequently request murals for their children’s rooms but were at times reluctant to make the investment. The monetary issue was one thing- murals take time and can be pricey- but interestingly, people were equally concerned about the issue of permanence in a child’s bedroom. One family, for example, worried about the possibility of relocating. A desire to make her murals more practical for her clients led Sarah to develop a line of wall hangings that could be hung like a tapestry or quilt and could be rolled up and stored for future generations to enjoy. Voila! Paintedinteriors.com was born! Designed with children of all ages in mind, all of our wall hangings are crafted of heavyweight canvas and come ready to hang with a dowel rod and ribbon.
